SCORE - historic timeline project

You and your team of 3 or 4 will work within your time range (OPUS) to build a timeline for. It must include:

  • DATES from the DATES SHEET provided to you at the beginning of the year (only use the dates from your particular OPUS and only on page 1 up to 1492 AD).
  • At least 20 TERMS from the weekly vocabulary sheets (again, only within the time of your OPUS).
  • At least 20 MAJOR HISTORICAL EVENTS (thINSTRUCTIONS and DETAILS offers some to get you started; you may use these or use your own).
  • At least 5 SOLOS, or MAJOR HISTORICAL PERSONS living within the time period of your team's OPUS.

    As we journey into the past, we will analyze the ancient nations of INDIA, CHINA and AFRICA. Not to mention the BYZANTINE EMPIRE and the rise of ISLAM...so break a leg and join us in our venture into the past....

    We will continue working on the PROJECT. Remember, you have the entire week following President's Day - but stay focused, we do not have much time this year to complete the project!

    JANUARY is a month of TESTS for your class!

    This Wednesday (January 11th) you have a TEST over ANCIENT GREECE.

    The following Wednesday (January 18th) is the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE preamble test [remember - it's a BIG ONE - 100 points! You will need to write it out (unless you schedule a time with me ahead of time that week to verbally recite it to me at lunch) AND tell me the meaning of one (or more) of the sections - be able to explain it in your own words!]

    And on Wednesday January 25th, you will have your MID-TERM!
    It will consist of any of the vocabulary terms from the entire semester! It will also have a section on MAPS - we have had only two (Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, Greece, China and Rome).

    RESEARCH WORK WEEK...
    This is your chance to catch up and make sure you are ready to hand in your NOTECARD COMPILATION assignment. You will have the ENTIRE WEEK to finish the 100 point assignment. The faster each team member finishes their notecard research, the quicker we can begin the actual projects!

    We will be meeting this week to discuss your project concepts.
